A DAY of HOLISTIC TOUCH: Intuitive Touch & Tools - An OUTDOOR Learning Retreat! The Pavilion, Lancaster NH

(Next day is an Intermediate to Advanced class) 

Course Descriptions:

  • A one-day, hands on course focused on how to better understand the muscles, fascia, and lymphatics through guided lecture, palpation, and techniques. The hands on will execute goal orientated massage on the back, shoulders, neck, face & scalp using less thumb work and intuitive thinking.

  • Also included and following the intuitive touch will be a focus on how to incorporate tools into your upper body massage on the décolleté, shoulders, neck, face & scalp. The hands on will explain how to choose tools based on the client’s needs/goals and how to perform a routine that offers results to include but not limited: relaxation, centering, flushing, lymphatic stimulation & utilizing gua sha stones, kansa wands and scalp combs.

  • This is an OUTDOOR learning retreat set in the Great North Woods in Lancaster NH at the PAVILION. (Gallery) The pavilion offers shade, bathrooms and fields with panoramic mountains all around. You won’t find a better way to learn in nature!

Course Goals:

  • To learn and expand intuitive touch, through a deeper knowledge of the tissues being worked on, an understanding of the domino effect of tissue and how to address the surrounding tissues, to give confidence behind goal orientated massage.

  • Body theory will explore a deeper understanding of the muscles, their attachments and how to best address them, how to melt fascia as the connective tissue and stimulation of lymphatics.

  • Hands on will expand tool use, technique and confidence behind goal orientated massage and tool selection.

  • Tool theory will explore a deeper understanding of the muscles, fascia and lymphatics to know how to best address and manipulate them towards your goals.

Learning Objectives / Outcomes:

  • Body: Learn more about your intake questions, how to select body topicals for the results your client wants/needs, visual assessment, introduction to intuitive touch, palpation, response of tissues, transitions, muscular agonists, antagonists, synergistic muscle groups and a greater understanding of whole-body influences to ease discomfort, increase range-of-motion and offer stress relief. We will cover how to offer therapeutic results for clients offering light, med & ‘deep’ pressure and how to adjust mechanics, circulation flow, lymphatic stimulation, and muscular origin & insertion basics.

  • Tools: Learn how to select the best tool and skin friendly products to support your goals, visual assessment, introduction and application of tools, palpation response, transitions, and a greater understanding of whole-body influences to increase results for skin balance, de-puffing and sculpting basics.

  • Massage Therapists and Body Workers will (learn or) advance their intuitive touch, learn how to utilize additional products (topicals) to enhance their treatments and offer results driven/therapeutic services. Face & scalp massage routines will also be expanded the tying in ‘whole body’ touch results.

  • Estheticians will learn a therapeutic back massage and expand their shoulder, neck, face & scalp routines. Their back-facials will be enhanced, and a greater understanding of results driven touch will be delivered.

  • Everyone will leave with the ability to offer a holistic ‘Enhancement’ or ‘Add-On’ to their treatment menu, and offer confident, therapeutic AND INTUITIVE touch through hands and tools.

Assessment Overview:

  • A demo will be offered, and then hands-on will include time to give AND receive within the day.

  • During the hands on, guided techniques from trainer, verbal assessment and model feedback will perfect the techniques.

Notes:

  • There is a second day offered that replicates this course however it is intermediate to advanced if you’re looking for higher education

  • If an overnight is desired, Littleton NH is the best option for hotels and food
